First found in Warwickshire where they were seated at Billesley as Lords of the manor, and conjecturally they are descended from Osbern who held his lands from Hugh de Grandmesnil at the time of the taking of the Domesday Book survey in 1086 A.D.
Some of the first settlers of this name or some of its variants were: John Trussell who settled in Virginia in 1622; Ann Trussell who landed in America in 1761; Franklin Trussell landed in Philadelphia Pa. in 1867; Charles Trushell 1927.
